Do You Really Miss Travelling?

Who doesn’t like travelling? That incredible feeling of joy when we are planning to take a break from our routine life and visiting new places or countries. Be it a short vacation or a long trip, it gives us immense pleasure.
Seeing amazing architecture, admiring centuries-old pieces of art, tasting new foods, and accumulating memorable experiences to last a lifetime becomes a quasi -addiction that we are only too happy to feel.
We all were getting used to this kind of lifestyle slowly when suddenly came the year of the pandemic. So many of us already had plans and booked tickets in advance for future travels when suddenly lockdowns and global shutdowns became a new normal.
Suddenly when in March 2020 every country announced a health emergency, we all were hopeful that it will not last long and life will be normal soon. But as the year passed things didn’t change and we all were locked in our homes. Everything was getting done from home …be it work or school or shopping. Managing everything online is a new normal for all of us now.
This was our 3rd month of lockdown. I was missing my travel each and every day.
One day, I was sitting at home and feeling sad about not being able to travel anywhere. For the past many years I was travelling extensively …be it for business purpose or leisure trips all over the world and now I was missing it like never. Missing those long drives, exploring places, photography learning new cultures, trying new cuisines and so much more.
Even my suitcase was sad because it was lying on top of an almirah (closet) for almost one year now!
In September 2020 ‘Flights to nowhere’ started and tickets were all sold out due to this travel hunger. Thousands of people in Brunei, Taiwan, Japan, and Australia have started booking flights that start and end in the same place. Some airlines call these “scenic flights”, others call them “flights to nowhere.”
“Cruise to Nowhere” was also launched and a lot of people enjoyed going for a vacation.
However I don’t think it is a good idea to load 200 or 300 people onto a plane altogether. When travelling you are not susceptible to COVID once you reach the destination. You will still be going through the airport and getting onto a plane with many other passengers. So, this is a risky option to satisfy your itch for travel. But If you still want it at least there is an option.
I am sure many of you can relate to this strongly because 2022 is passing by quickly, however, we are still stuck at home, increasingly starving for travel.
Nothing much changed when 2020 was over but it changed our lives in so many ways. Locations around the world are beginning to open again. COVID 19 is still claiming lives but more Travellers are getting onto the planes. For now travel may look different in many ways. People can expect to explore a world of face masks, physical distancing, and two weeks quarantines.
Whatever the new change will be imposed or hike in ticket prices, travel-hungry people will not miss the opportunity to go to new places. With vaccines being administered globally so fast it seems possible that with a new normal, life will be what it used to be, and we will not be missing travel as we did in 2020.
So, are you ready for that shot in your arm, which you were awaiting when it was not there? Or still feeling hesitant to go for it? Now I am talking about booster.😀
Get-up folks, the time has come now, get your bags packed and start trotting around the globe again. We will be happy and add happiness to our economy as well. Let me wish you all a happy journey in advance.

By the way, I am getting ready to travel to Darjeeling on my own car for about two weeks in forest areas of North Bengal.😊😀😃🎉👍🎇💖 I am crazy now.

Thank you so much, Arun Ji for liking what I shared in this post. This is what I feel right now…despite traveling in the pandemic period also, I am again desperate to travel. I feel bored and monotonous without traveling. 😊😀
Believe me, It gives life a new outlook when we deal with different people from different countries and cultures. They teach us what we can’t learn sitting in one place. Enjoying different cuisines is a plus point.
Wow, Darjeeling is a nice place and I would like to go and enjoy it there. I am glad to know that you are also crazy about traveling.😀😃
Now that this pandemic is changing into endemic, we have to pack our bags again to enjoy this beautiful world.
Best wishes for your upcoming travel.😊😊🌞
Enjoy and take care.

Traveling is very important that we know from school level. We used to write essay “Traveling as a part of education”
It is good that pandemic is becoming endemic.

Hi Jenny, the rule of this universe is…whatever or whoever comes here, that has to go one day. Be it humans or illness. Later or sooner definitely that happens. So be assured that this will go and now as we can see its almost gone in some countries.
Very soon you will travel, I am sure about that. 😊 😊

One great thing about today, this time period, is that we can “travel” without leaving home via the internet. I follow blogs from people around the world for that insight into other lives that good travel can give me. I am ready to go, too, but not yet. My circle includes at-risk people for whom I can remain safe. Love the idea!

Yes, Kat…this is the advantage of technology. Whatever we write or say about the disadvantages of technology, there are still numerous benefits we are getting from this, and roaming the world from the comfort of our home is one of them.😊 😊
