Amazing Stories Of Lord Hanuman

YOU MUST KNOW # 32

Attributes: Kama-rupin

He can shapeshift, become smaller than the smallest, larger than the largest adversary at will. He uses this attribute to shrink and enter Lanka, as he searches for the kidnapped Sita imprisoned in Lanka. Later on, he takes on the size of a mountain, blazing with radiance, to show his true power to Sita.

As we all have read in Hanuman Chalisa that:

“asht siddhi nav nidhi ke data

as var deen janki mata”

Lord Anjaneya or Hanumanji is the master of 8 siddhis and 9 nidhis.

Anima and Mahima are the 2 siddhis where he is able to reduce his size and increase it respectively.

The other 6 are:

  1. Garima: Ability to increase one’s weight infinitely
  2. Laghima: Ability to become lighter than the lightest
  3. Prapti: Ability to Obtain anything
  4. Prakamya: Ability to acquire anything desired
  5. Isitva: Lordship over creation
  6. Vasitva: Having control over things.

The Hanuman Chalisa says that Mother Sita (Janaki Mata) bestowed this grace upon him.

Jai Shree Ram!

🙏🙏

    1. Thank you so much…(I don’t know your name😊) for your detailed and knowledgeable reply. So insightful…

With this perspective, it becomes evident that Hanuman is the Supreme Guru who unites Parmatma and Jeevatma and Hanuman is not any ordinary guru, He is the perfect guru if there were one, physically strong, mentally proficient, spiritually evolved, and culturally sound – also being blessed by Shiva, he is like a lion in the forest.

As resplendent and as fearless. No wonder the world bows down to him. But he has fixed and applied all his qualities in the service of Rama. Sri Tulsidas makes it very clear in the opening few verses of Chalisa.

      1. My name is Narayanan and I am the blogger of chapter18. Hanuman’s Bhakti to Rama evokes all the three stages towards God realisation… Daivta, Visist-Aditvita and Advita.

      2. Thank you Narayanan Ji. You are absolutely right.Shri Hanuman obeys the wishes of his Lord Rama and Mother Sita as he reverentially addresses the Goddess, and, in this way, demonstrates not only his power but also his humility and his obedience to God’s command. 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
