My imperfection is my perfection

Imperfection, a label we’ve placed,

On the things we see, the life we’ve traced.

But what if imperfection was not a flaw,

But a chance to grow, an opportunity to draw?

For nothing is perfect, in this life we lead,

From the smallest seed to the tallest weed.

Our families, our friends, ourselves included,

All have flaws, with imperfections concluded.

But imperfection is not a curse,

Nor is it something, to make us feel worse.

It’s a chance to learn, a chance to try,

To improve ourselves, to reach the sky.

For a glass that’s full, cannot hold more,

But an imperfect glass has room to explore.

To fill with more, to reach greater heights,

To make something perfect, from a plight.

So let’s embrace, imperfection with glee,

For it’s a chance to grow, a chance to be.

Imperfection is not a bane, but a boon,

A chance to improve, to reach the moon.

So let’s not see it, as a deficiency,

But an inspiration, to try more, and see.

    1. You are absolutely right. I find myself perfect in my imperfections. There is one and only me like myself and if everyone is perfect in everything they will look like clones of each other.😊😀 Thank you for reading and commenting.

    1. Thank you so much Jeff for your comments. Nobody is perfect in this world. Our imperfection is our perfection as it give us a chance to improve. The day we will be perfect, there will not be any chance to improve further. So it’s better to have some imperfections so that we can move further.😊🌹

  2. Well written!
JRD Tata once said something to the effect that ‘you aim for perfection, you achieve excellence’; you aim for excellence, you end up going lower’ (not his exact words). Sure eenough, the journey towards perfection helps us to evolve into better human beings. Tagore speaks of a relentless striving towards it.

    1. Thank you so much, Ashok Ji. I appreciate you like this poem. 😊🙏🏻
I think It’s OK to fail and make mistakes from time to time because people who strive for perfection don’t get a chance to explore their own imperfections which can certainly provide a lot of learning opportunities.
Hope you will keep reading and commenting. It gives me encouragement to write better.

      1. Yes, failures are an integral part of the journey towards a utopian goal called perfection. Just like the challenges we face in life end up chiselling us into better human beings.
Thank you. Yes, I realize how important comments happen to be. For people like us, these act as the fuel which keeps us going. Shall try my best to live up to your expectations.

      2. Thanks a lot, Ashok Ji. The support we get from our readers keeps our energy levels up. I feel the sharpness of our pen keeps us calm from the inside and lets us think deeply about every subject. If I can bring a smile to someone’s face while reading my writings, it fulfills my expectation.😊😊
