Prophecy came true

Every time Devki gave birth to a  child Kans killed him. In eight years, he already had killed seven children of the couple by smashing their heads on the prison walls.

In the ninth year, Devki was expecting her eighth child. Devki was devastated knowing the fact that her brother Kans will again kill the child.

Kans was worried that the prophecy might come true and he was frightened by this thought.

That night was very dark and it was raining continuously. River Yamuna was flooded with water and swelled like an ocean.
